What is the Youth Empowerment Project?

The Digital Parenta Youth Empowerment Project is a preventative and educational programme that supports young people to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. Sessions are interactive, practical, and designed to build confidence — not fear. We focus on real-life scenarios young people face across social media, messaging apps, gaming and live streaming.

Empowerment over fear. Prevention over crisis. Youth voice at the centre.

Core Workshop Themes

Sessions are actively adapted for age, SEND needs and specific safeguarding context.

Digital Identity & Footprint
Exploring how online actions shape personal reputation. We cover the permanence of digital data, managing privacy settings across popular apps, and curating a positive online presence for the future.
Social Media & Mental Health
Addressing the psychological impact of social media. Topics include dealing with FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), understanding algorithms, body image, and building strategies for healthy screen-time boundaries.
Online Grooming & Exploitation Awareness
Crucial education on recognizing the signs of online grooming and exploitation. We teach young people how to spot red flags in conversations, understand manipulative tactics, and safely report suspicious behavior.
Cyberbullying & Peer Pressure
Navigating the complexities of digital communication. This module focuses on the impact of cyberbullying, how to be an active upstander rather than a bystander, and resisting negative peer pressure online.
Gaming, Live Streaming & Online Safety
Tailored specifically to gaming and streaming cultures. We discuss interacting with strangers in multiplayer games, managing in-game purchases, and the specific risks associated with live streaming platforms.
Digital Law & Responsibility
An age-appropriate overview of digital laws. We cover the importance of age restrictions, the legal and social consequences of sharing intimate images, and understanding legal digital boundaries.
